Reconnecting with AIR CRE’s Historic DTLA Roots

REDISCOVERING OLD GOOD THINGS

A week ago, AIR CRE moved it’s offices back to DTLA,  after seven years in Glendale. My tenure with AIR CRE began in DTLA, so returning to the same building we previously occupied at 800 W. 6th Street feels very much like coming home. I am amazed and inspired by the staggering, non-stop development everywhere you turn.

I think most people would agree that the only good part of the moving process is unearthing those precious items, long-forgotten, that somehow managed to disappear over the years. In this case, it was discovering archives dating back to the founding of AIR CRE throughout the packing process; portfolios full of press clippings, like that pictured from the February 19, 1967 Sunday Times, marketing brochures from the late 50’s 60’s 70’s and press releases from the 80’s covering just about everything we now casually relay via email.

I also found photos of AIR CRE founding members at events, handouts covering “Using the Tax Benefits of Real Estate as a Marketing Tool” and AIR CRE’s original “Journal” that debuted in 1961. All of these discoveries document this association’s steadfast progress over the past six decades.

RECENT CHANGES & UPGRADES

Now back in AIR CRE’s old stomping grounds, it is hard to miss the correlation between the evolution of the city’s landscape and the respective evolution of this organization. We’ve had many key accomplishments recently which I’d like to share with you.

Just over a week ago, AIR CRE launched the latest upgrade to our Research & Listings Platform, delivering key enhancements based on our members’ feedback, which include searchable Opportunity Zones, nine months of fully researched sales comps, and the ability to create landscape-oriented listing and comps reports.

We also rolled-out a major upgrade to the AIR CRE Contracts app, which includes the ability to electronically sign all contracts via DocuSign and purchase credits online.

We are continuing to expand our product offering with the launch of CommercialExchange and SiteLink partnerships.

CommercialExchange is a new, publicly accessible listing service, which showcases Member listings and expands their marketing reach, delivering leads straight to Members.

SiteLink provides brokerage firms the ability to post their listing information, photos, and PDF brochures straight on their website by connecting it to the AIR CRE Research & Listings feed. This easy-to-use platform is accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

As you should by now be aware, AIR CRE recently partnered with both ProspectNow and ClientLook as part of our expanding service platform.

ProspectNow delivers comprehensive owner information on over 100 million properties as well as in-depth data on 12 million tenants across the country. AIR CRE Members can access ProspectNow’s commercial property owner database, business database, LLC database and more.

ClientLook is the industry’s most actively used all-in-one CRM. AIR CRE Members are able to purchase ClientLook’s services at an exclusive discounted rate.

As we work to deliver these cutting-edge CRE products and services, we look forward to hearing about your experience using these new Member benefits, and how they help you improve business.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FUTURE

Our recent move back to DTLA reinforced how and why this association has been so integral to the CRE industry. Since its founding, AIR CRE has been comprised of the industry’s top leaders, who had a vision for a better future. This vision is AIR CRE’s true legacy –  an ideology to improve and change the status quo for the better.  As the organization has grown and adapted over the decades, one thing has remained constant – the loyal support of our Members.

On behalf of myself, AIR CRE, and our Board of Directors, I thank you for your part in this next chapter of AIR CRE’s history.

Sincerely, Tim Hayes
